Juicing recipes - Dr. Axe

Are you a fan of juices? I’m not talking about those sugary, sweet supermarket kinds, but the homemade varieties. These drinks provide you with massive antioxidant, fruit and veggie boosts with minimal effort — plus juicing and cleansing your body  go hand in hand. That’s why you want to try out the juicing recipes that are just right for you.

You can buy all-natural juices from specialty brands, but they aren’t easy on the wallet — just a few days’ worth can quickly add up. Luckily, juices are easy to make at home with a juicer or high-powered blender. But if you aren’t sure what ingredients make the best juices, get excited. These delicious, nutritious juicing recipes from around the Web are sure to pique your taste buds and make healthy living taste that much more delicious.

22 Healthy, Homemade Juicing Recipes

1. Anti-Inflammatory Juice

Inflammation is the root of most diseases  — so why not stop it at the source? This juice is packed with anti-inflammatory foods that leave you feeling great. Pro tip: Use canned pineapple packed in juice (not syrup!) when pineapple isn’t in season to keep this juice easy on the wallet.

2. Beet and Berry Liver Cleanse Juice

Beets and berries: No, it isn’t a new band, but a juice recipe your liver will thank you for. That’s because it’s packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that make for a great liver cleanse — plus, can you really resist that luscious color?!

3.  Beet Carrot Apple Juice

Swap your afternoon coffee for this juice when that post-lunch slump hits. Refreshing and made with just a handful of ingredients, this beet carrot apple juice is the perfect perk.

4.  Belly Buster Green Juice

Give your metabolism a jump-start with this citrus-based juice. Try it as a light breakfast or as an accompaniment to your normal eggs.

5.  Cellulite and Fat-Killer Juice

Who knew that staples like grapefruit, lemons and limes could help naturally reduce cellulite and detox the body? I love that the main ingredient, grapefruit , is a natural weight loss and cellulite reducer. Plus, who needs orange juice when grapefruit is packed with vitamin C?

6.  Cherry Mango Anti-Inflammatory Juice

Three fruity, juicy ingredients make for one naturally sweet juice. This recipe, packed with antioxidants and immunity-boosting ingredients, is the perfect way to start your day right.

7.  Cleansing Green Juice

It’s not always easy to get enough greens in each day. Luckily, this juice helps you fight half the battle. Packed with cucumbers, celery and lettuce, you’ll have a few servings of veggies before breakfast is over.

8. Ginger-Aid Immune Juice

So simple, yet so good. This immunity-boosting juice is loaded with everyone’s favorite green, kale , and garlic, one of the best natural anti-inflammatory agents. It’s zesty, it’s power-packed and it’s the juice you need.

9.  Ginger, Carrot, Turmeric and Grapefruit Juice

Powerful turmeric is one of the most powerful spices around, so it’s no surprise that it makes an appearance in this zesty, wholesome juice. You won’t believe the flavor that comes out of just four ingredients, either.

10.  Golden Glow Elixir Juice

Blended with water, this golden glow elixir might not be a strict “juice,” but you won’t mind once you notice how great it leaves you feeling. Apples and oranges make an appearance, as do turmeric and ginger , a digestive wonder.

11.  Grand Daddy Purple Juice

Sure, you’ve heard of green juice, but are you ready for purple juice? A variety of bold-colored fruits and veggies are found in this juice, from beets and red cabbage to carrots and kale. It might sound like a weird combo, but this juice is filled with cancer-fighting compounds and anti-inflammatory agents — and there’s nothing weird about that.

12.  Green Juice for Women

Ladies, this one is especially for you. If you find your hormones out of whack or need help feeling like yourself during that time of the month, try this green juice. This juicing recipe, brimming with parsley, celery, spirulina powder and other nutrients, is just what the doctor ordered.

13.  Homemade V8 Juice

There’s no reason to buy V8 juice in the store — you can make the bottled drink yourself. Simmering or steaming the veggies first gives this juice recipe just the right texture while adding Worcestershire sauce provides just the right amount of saltiness. Bye bye, V8. Hello homemade.

14.  Hot Pink Beautifying Juice

Not only is this juice absolutely stunning in color (don’t let the pink keep you away, men!), but it’s great for you too. The beets pack an anti-inflammatory punch and detox the blood — and there’s so much pigment that you won’t believe there’s a bunch of kale in there, too.

15.  Immunity-Boosting Juice

The next time you feel a cold coming on, stop it in its tracks with this immunity-boosting juice recipe. Vitamins in general are terrific at building up your defenses, and this juice is full of them, from vitamin C to vitamin A . And with just enough sweetness, thanks to the apple, this juice feels more like a treat than a natural cold-preventer.

16.  Migraine Reliever Juice

Is your head throbbing? Sip on this juice. Magnesium is known to be a headache remedy , and this drink has heaps of it. With just half a pineapple (use canned if necessary), your choice of leafy greens, a stick of celery, lemon and ginger, you likely already have the ingredients you need.

17.  Orange Carrot Ginger Juice

If you think fresh drinks are just for adults, think again. This kid-friendly juice recipe is a great way to sneak some extra veggies into your child’s diet. Plus, it tastes so good the entire family will love it!

18.  Pineapple Kale Juice

While this juice might taste like a sip of the tropics, it’s pretty impressive how much green is in here. We’re talking kale and Swiss chard , which is often overshadowed by its popular cousin but full of antioxidants and other nutrients in its own right. Start your day with this simple beverage.

19.  Red Spark Energy Juice

This powerful juice is the perfect way to energize in the morning. If the color alone doesn’t do it, the refreshing flavors of grapefruit, oranges and berries will.

20.  Spinach Shots

It’s time to knock back a few shots — spinach shots, that is. This shot requires just three ingredients for a quick snack and veggie boost. I especially love the suggestion to cook up the leftover pulp and toss with pasta for a super-simple dinner.

21.  Strawberry, Watermelon and Cucumber Juice

If you’re a fan of store-bought fruit juices, this homemade juice recipe will change your world. Strawberries, watermelon and cucumber combine to produce one of the most refreshing, zestiest drinks you’ve had. For even more flavor, serve this one with fresh mint.

22.  Sweet Cilantro Juice

OK, cilantro haters won’t enjoy this juice recipe. But for those who are fans of the herb, this juice is a real treat. That’s because cilantro rids the body of heavy metals, lowers anxiety and improves sleep — not too shabby! Adding oranges ensures this juice doesn’t taste super “green” and adds some vitamin C-packed citrus. Yum!

Four kid-friendly fruit and veg juices.

Fruit and veg juice children Juicing is massive right now. Juice bars are cropping up all over the country, local shops are now stocking juice drinks and my social media feeds are full of people embarking on juice-only diets. I have to admit I first got into juicing a few years ago when I drank only fruit and veg juice for three days in order to lose a few pounds for an event. Looking back now it was ridiculous. I didn’t need to lose any weight (I’d pay good money to have that pre-baby body back again!) and surviving on only juice for three days whilst I was working 11 hour days and exercising was quite frankly stupid.

Fruit and veg juice children Thankfully I ditched the faddy diet quickly but my fondness of juicing has remained. Fast forward a few years I am already on my second juicer (this Philips Whole Fruit Juicer *). I try to use it a couple of times a week and lately have been introducing my little fussy eater to more and more ambitious fruit and vegetable juice concoctions.

She was quite resistant at first but now will drink small amounts of most juices that I make. Juicing should not be used as a replacement for fresh fruit and veg for kids, but it is a great way to get some extra nutrients into them, especially from produce that they may otherwise refuse to eat.

Fruit and veg juice children Here are some of my tips for introducing kids to juicing:

1. Get them involved in the process. Bring them to the supermarket or your local fruit and veg shop and get them excited about choosing your produce together. Juicers are not machines to be used by little people but encourage them to watch you juicing. They’ll be amazed to see the carrot going in and juice coming out!

2. Start with more fruit than veg juice. It will take their taste buds a little while to adjust to vegetable juice so introduce that slowly.

3. Add water to the juices if necessary.

4. My juicer makes quite smooth juices but you can always strain the juice to remove any little bits that your fussy eaters don’t like.

5. Fresh juice tastes best cold so be sure to chill it before you offer it to them.

6. Use pretty glasses and colourful straws to make the juice appear more enticing to little eyes.

Child friendly juice recipe The four juices I make the most for my fussy eater are:

1. Apple Lemonade

2. ABC Juice (apple, beetroot and carrot)

3. Kale & Pineapple

4. Carrot & Orange

The quantities are set out in the recipe below. I hope you and your fussy little eaters enjoy them!

Description

Four kid-friendly fruit and veg juices

Ingredients

  • Each makes 250ml of juice
  • Apple Lemonade – 2 apples, 1/2 small lemon
  • ABC Juice – 1 apple, 2 carrot, 50g beetroot
  • Kale & Pineapple – 200g kale, 1 large slice pineapple
  • Carrot & Orange – 2 carrot, 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Wash the fruit and veg. Cut into pieces if necessary (some juicers are allow you to put whole pieces of fruit in, some require you to chop it up).
  2. Chill and serve over ice.
  3. The juices are best served that same day but I do sometimes make them in bulk and keep them in the fridge for 48 hours.

  2. Love these. I put it in a NON seethrough cup with lid so kids dont see the colour and be turned off before even trying it. They love it cant wait to tell them what veggies and fruits in it…

    Reply
    • Love that tip!!!

  3. Can you taste the vegetables or does the fruit sort of mask them while still giving you all the nutrients you need?

    Reply
    • The taste is masked with the fruit so they are still quite sweet

      • Do we cut it in chunks

  8. This looks great and can’t wait to try them! Do you peel your lemon?

    Reply
    • No I dont peel it

  11. Hi
Can you recommend a recipe using kale and spinach but with no fruit that children might like?

    Reply
    • Most of the time fruit is added to sweeten the juice. Kale and spinach can be rather bitter but if you’re kids don’t mind the strange color of the juice try adding carrots or even a small amount of beet root to it as well it will not look very nice but it will taste better.

      Reply
  12. hi,
i am considering producing fresh and healthy fruit juices for children commercially.
Can you advise on ways to preserve them for at least a week or two?

    Reply
    • Sorry I have no idea!!!

      Reply
    • Fresh ….. is preservative free!!!!!!!!

Enrolment Procedure | Rossbourne School

Enrolment Procedure

Families interested in pursuing an enrolment at Rossbourne School are requested to contact us with the intention of participating in a tour of the school. School tours are often conducted twice weekly. Families will have an opportunity to register their child on a waiting list, without cost, at the commencement of the tour.

The year of admission requested on the waiting list is then collated with all other families for any given year.

During Term 1 of the year prior to requested admission, all families on the waiting list will receive a postal invitation enquiring whether they are still interested in their nominated year or whether they wish to defer their enrolment. The waiting list is then re-ordered based on parent interest.

During Term 2 of this same year, an interview is conducted with families for which a vacancy is available, whereby the Principal will discuss with parents the background history of the student. The Psychologist, during this time, will show the student around the school facilities and classrooms. A 2-day trial is then arranged for the student to spend time in a comparable class to be observed and assessed by teachers and also to have the student evaluate the appropriateness of Rossbourne’s programs for themselves. A feedback interview is arranged with the family where outcomes are discussed. A trial is concluded as successful in accordance with the Rossbourne’s selection criteria.

In the event of an unsuccessful trial, alternative educational options are discussed and offered to the family.

Interviews are not offered until it is known that a vacancy is available.

The enrolment process can be relatively slow, given the small number of students that can be trialled in any given classroom over a week. While appreciating that families need to know the possibility of a vacancy arising for their child, it is difficult with any certainly, to predict the likelihood of a vacancy for any given year until interviews have commenced.

The waiting list is always reorganized each year, based on the date at which a family first toured Rossbourne, regardless of the year for which they intended to enrol. Students missing out on a vacancy will automatically have their name rolled-over to the following year.

All families are urged to have contingency plans, in the event of a vacancy not becoming available or on discovering that Rossbourne’s curriculum is unsuitable for their child’s educational needs. Unfortunately, there are no known comparative specialist schools to Rossbourne. Government special schools cater for students with an IQ between 50 and 70. Alternatively, contacting Special Education Coordinators at mainstream secondary colleges to assess their suitability would be worthwhile.

Rustler poloists fall to AP #1 Trojans
October 5, 2011
By Jeane Parel
Western Sun staff writer

The Golden West men’s water polo team fell short in a close exhibition game against the Associated Press no. 1 ranked USC Trojans on Saturday, Sept. 24. The Rustlers lost to the Trojans, 10-8.

Golden West kept it tight in the first quarter but slipped four goals behind by the end of the third. The Rustlers refused to remain silent as David Jorth defended his team with a steal while goalie, Taylor Lapin, came up with two very much-needed saves in the second half.

The Rustlers worked to close the four-point gap built by the Trojans with second half goals from Kevin Oliveira, Luca De Vivo, and Bero Rusz. Despite gaining five points in the second half, GWC still finished two goals behind USC at the end of the game.

“When you play against better players it exposes your weaknesses so it was a great opportunity for our kids to go up there and play,” head coach Scott Taylor said. “They did the best they could and we’re able to come back and learn from all the mistakes they made.”

In his 10th season as head coach, Taylor has brought the Rustlers three state championships, nine Southern California championships and nine conference titles.

Although last weekend’s loss does not count toward GWC’s record, Taylor thought it was a good experience for the team to be able to play against the highest level of college athletes. His team has no choice but to rise to the challenge. “They get to see what they have to do here at Golden West to make it there.” my emphasis

The green and gold will take their learned lessons and take on the University of the Pacific at 12 p.m. and Sierra at 1:30 p.m. both this Friday at Pacific’s pool.

Note: Golden West is also scheduled to play West Valley & Cal "B" this weekend, and Concordia, Cal Baptist & UCSB next weekend. http://www.gwcathletics.com/mens-sports … e-results/

I don’t know, I wasn’t there. Was anyone there who could comment?

According to USC"s recap on their website, here is the goals by quarter breakdown:
http://www.usctrojans.com/sports/m-wpol … 11aab.html
USC 10, Golden West 8
USC 3 – 4 – 3 – 0 = 10
GW 2 – 1 – 3 – 2 = 8
SCORING:
USC — Jeremy Davie 2, Connor Virjee 2, Kosta Genidounias 2, Ivan Kustic 2, Marc Vonderwiedt, Jack Plaga.
GW — Bero Rusz 2, Marko Madaras 2, Kevin Oliveira 2, Ricardo Guimaraes, Luca De Vivo.
SAVES: Ely Bonilla (USC) 5, Will Simon (USC) 3, Taylor Lapin (GW) 5.

USC’s 2011 statistics:
http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/usc … _stats.pdf
USC’s starting goalie did not play, it looks like. All of the USC players listed in the box score have scored at least 1 goal prior to this game, but since there’s no statistic listed for "playing time", there’s no reliable way to determine who played & how much. For example, Genidounias is USC’s 2nd leading scorer, but it doesn’t say how much he played.

My main point in bringing it up was that I admire Coach Taylor’s attitude, that he thinks it is important to play against the next level, so the JC student-athletes know what it takes to play at that level, and think about what they must do if they wish to transfer & continue their scholastic & athletic career at whatever school they are interested in.

Golden West 11 Cal "B" 8

Concordia 11 Golden West 8

Golden West 10 Cal Baptist 9

How to Speak Fluent English: Top 10 Tips

Get a 35% discount on the Complete Program

Today’s lesson is important, because MANY students write to me and ask how they can become fluent – so here are my top 10 tips for speaking fluent English.

    1) Understand that there is no “magic bullet.”

That means there is NO secret and super-effective way to guarantee fluency very fast.

Yes, there are different methods, and some are more effective than others. For example, a good English course should balance all the areas of language (speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing). If any of those elements are missing, then you will have difficulty becoming fluent.

Also, different methods will appeal to different people. I personally do very well with memorization; other people hate memorization. Some students can pick up English easily from informal conversations; other students prefer a more organized and structured method.

Still, becoming fluent in English – or any language – is a long-term process.

If anyone says they have “the secret” to instant fluency… don’t believe them!

    2) Use English in your daily life as much as possible.

It’s more important to have frequent contact with English than to have hours and hours of study. Using English for 10 minutes a day, every day, is better than studying for 1 hour only once a week.

Even if you don’t live in an English-speaking country, there are still many ways to do this!

Here are just a few suggestions for making English part of your daily life:

    • Listen to English as you drive to work.
    • Read the news online in English instead of in your native language.
    • Practice thinking in English while you are doing housework or exercise.
    • Read articles, listen to podcasts, and watch videos in English about topics you enjoy (this is important! You will make much more progress if you are having fun during the process).

    3) Balance the areas of language learning.

    • Reading
    • Writing
    • Speaking
    • Listening
    • Grammar
    • Vocabulary

Many students make the error of focusing too much on one or two areas, and they end up being weak in the other areas. One tip is to dedicate one day per week to studying and practicing each area.

    4) Get a regular speaking partner through a “conversation exchange” website.

You can’t just study English… you need to USE your English!

If you have nobody to speak with in daily life, you can find a speaking partner online through a “conversation exchange” website. On these websites, you can meet native English speakers who want to learn your native language – this way, you can both help each other learn and practice.

Here are some conversation exchange websites:

    • conversationexchange.com
    • mylanguageexchange.com
    • englishbaby.com
    • Speaking24.com
    • Top language exchange websites

Try to speak with your partner at least once a week. This is so important for practicing as well as building your confidence!

    5) Read, watch and listen to English in many different contexts.

If you only watch news programs in English, then you will be able to understand a more “formal” style of English, but not a typical conversation between two native speakers, which is often filled with idioms and slang.

On the other hand, if you only watch movies and listen to songs in English, then you might not be able to understand (or write) a more academic article. And if you only use English for work , then it will be hard to talk about other topics because you won’t have the vocabulary.

So make sure to diversify your English input:

    • fiction and non-fiction
    • formal and informal
    • lectures and conversations
    • serious subjects and comedy
    • etc.

    6) Learn to think in English.

This is one of the biggest keys to English fluency – but how can you learn it?

    There’s a step-by-step process you can follow:

    1. First, beginning to think with individual English words
    2. Then progressing to thinking in English sentences
    3. Finally imagining entire conversations and stories in your head in English

( Read this lesson  for a more detailed explanation with examples).

This is one of the best ways to practice English, because if you make a “mistake,” nobody knows about it!

Also, you can practice thinking in English anytime, anywhere. No need for a textbook or classroom. The earlier you begin the habit of thinking in English, the easier it will be to speak fast.

    7) Say things with different words – be creative!

Two big obstacles to English fluency are lack of vocabulary and pauses / hesitations. This usually happens because you have an idea, but you can’t express it in English. It can be really frustrating. However, if you don’t know a particular word, try to think of alternative ways to express your idea.

Here’s an example: in a conversation about cooking, my student didn’t know the word “onion,” so instead he said, “the white vegetable that when you cut it you cry” – it was a perfect description, and I understood exactly what he wanted to say!

This is also important for English sentences. Sometimes you want to say something a certain way because you are translating directly from your native language, but you don’t know how to construct the phrase in English.

Of course, learning to think directly in English will help you avoid this problem – but also try to be open-minded and flexible in thinking of different ways to say the same message.

Native English speakers also have many ways to say the same thing – just look at this list of  different ways to say “hello” and “goodbye” in English .

    8) Practice talking to yourself.

This is REALLY an excellent way to develop your fluency and build your confidence. There is no pressure to be perfect, and nobody else will hear your mistakes.

For speaking ideas, go to this website and choose a topic. Imagine somebody is asking you the question. Then practice answering it by talking to yourself out loud.

Yes… it feels a little bit silly. But you can do it alone where no one will hear you, and it’s a great step to putting your English into practice.

    9) Don’t think too much about grammar, and don’t worry about mistakes.

One of the biggest “mental blocks” for English learners is being nervous or afraid to make a mistake – or embarrassed if they don’t speak perfectly. But remember: Communication is MUCH more important than perfection!

    Here’s an example:

    • Imagine someone says, “Yesterday I go to party in beach.”
    • This sentence is incorrect; it should be:
“Yesterday I went to a party on the beach.”

However, even with the errors, it still communicates the message SUCCESSFULLY!

Of course with time you will want to correct your mistakes – but for everyday speaking in general, RELAX and remember that mistakes are not fatal; the important thing is to communicate.

    10) Don’t give up… never stop learning!

I’ve had a lot of students who study for a few years, then stop… then start again, then stop for a long time, then re-start… maybe you have done this, too.

The problem is that you often lose the progress you made before, and then becoming fluent takes much, much longer.

But the good news is that you don’t need to be a genius to become fluent in English – you just need to have dedication and practice consistently.

If you do this, you WILL reach your goal of English fluency.

    7. I’ve been making slide shows for the end of the year since 2002. I think I love them as much as the kids and families! Last year, I had the honor of making the 6th grade video for my son’s class that was moving up to junior high. Looks like you have most of what I use: Count On Me, Good Riddance, Let Them Be Little, You’ve Got a Friend in Me, You’ll Be In My Heart, The Climb. My Wish, Life Is a Highway. I also use You Raise Me Up (Groban), The World’s Greatest (Kelly), How to Say Goodbye (Smith), When You Remember (Underwood), Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Isreal), Forever Young (Stewart).

      • Thanks so much for sharing what you use, Alesia! How cool was that – making the video for your son’s class? Were you crying your eyes out? I always blubber a little bit putting these together, so something for my son would make it even more so I think. 🙂

      • I was using MovieMaker, but I need to find something else for this year. MovieMaker on a different Windows platform doesn’t actually translate to a movie anymore. So disappointed with the mess it was this year! Do you have a preferred program?

    14. During a sports themed pre-k graduation, many years ago, we did a wonderful song by R. Kelly. It was titled “World’s Greatest”, I believe. As I handed out the diplomas to the children’s, this song played. I also created a slideshow of pictures and made a copy for each parent. We used songs lik “We Are the Champions” and “We’re All in This Together” (from High School Musical). Such wonderful memories. <3

    23. I am in charge of my elementary school’s morning announcements; every three weeks, there is a different team of 5th graders that are on-air, so they get their individual pictures/theme, plus we have other candid photos taken of events happening around the school. These 1-2 minute clips are edited together for our school’s final year-end video, which usually runs 15 minutes in length

Some of the songs I list are not necessarily the “sappy” type of songs, but go with specific events or are just fun for the kids:

The Police: Too Much Information (before spring break when everyone needs a break)
Mutemath: Typical, also Spotlight (used for Veterans Day assembly pictures)
Alpha Rev: Sing Loud (also works for Veterans Day assembly pictures)
Oingo Boingo: Weird Science (Science Fair photos)
Kraftwerk: Pocket Calculator (Science Fair, math night photos)
The Script: Superheros (our school theme one year was superheros)
Kaiser Chiefs: Good Days, Bad Days
Duran Duran: Planet Earth, also Reach Up For the Sunrise
REO Speedwagon: Time For Me To Fly (fade in at about 1:40, then the lyrics went perfectly with a 5th grade farewell-type montage)
REO Speedwagon: Roll With the Changes
Madness: Wings of a Dove (A Celebratory Song) (such a happy, tropical-sounding song, I think because of the steel drums)
      Kate Earl: Learning To Fly
manicanparty: Should I Stay Or Should I Go (breast cancer, everybody dressed in pink photos; the kids LOVED this song, which is of course a cover version of the Clash)
CHVRCHES: Never Ending Circles (bright, cheerful, female vocalist)
Luther Ingram: Exus Trek (this is perfect for Halloween/costume pictures, because it has a spooky edge to it, but still very Mo-town sounding!)
Kim Carnes: Crazy In the Night (also for dress-up/costume pictures)
Moby: Bodyrock (Jump Rope for Heart, all-school run, etc. the kids LOVE this song)
Tyrone Wells: Time of Our Lives (surprised no one has mentioned this yet–this song is perfectly tailored for graduations)
Two Door Cinema Club: What You Know (the kids loved this one, kind of a 5th grade bye-bye song)
Billy Idol: Dancing With Myself (edit out the lyric about “sinking another drink”)
Beatles: The Word (worked for Valentines Day pictures featuring different vocabulary words that speak to kids’ personalities)
No Doubt: Trapped In a Box (the kids LOVED this one)
Hey Champ: Comet, also Neverest (have been meaning to use Neverest but have not gotten around to it yet)
Howard Jones: Things Can Only Get Better
Alphabeat: Vacation (great song to use right before summer vacation starts)
The Other Ones: Holiday (similar theme as above song)
ABBA: Eagle (used with fall fun run pictures)
Said the Whale: I Love You (valentines pictures)
Big Country: In a Big Country
Mark Ronson & the Business Intl.: The Bike Song (the kids LOVED this one; worked well with “back-to-school” type pictures, first day of school & fall playground pictures) I skipped over most of the rap section
Mark Ronson & the Daptone Horns: God Put a Smile On Your Face (yes, a Coldplay cover; this song worked well for a “private detective/spy”-type theme)
Lobo: Me and You and a Dog Named “Boo” (works well for back-to-school type pictures)
Betty Who: Somebody Loves You (works great for Muffins With Mom and Doughnuts With Dad photos)
      Filter: Take a Picture
Florrie: Call 911 (Fred Falke mix) the kids LOVED this one
      Mint Royale: Wait For You
Fatboy Slim: The Rockafeller Skank (used just the beginning portion of this one….the kids LOVED it) (used with sunglasses day, or “hats ‘n’ tats” day photos)
Capitols: Cool Jerk (see comment from previous song)
Master Shortie: Bringing It Back (I cut out the first verse when he sings about Patrick Swayze and seeing the 80s through his mother’s eyes)…..the kids LOVED this one. Works well with back-to-school type pictures
Quincy Jones Big Band: Boogie Stop Shuffle
The Last Goodnight: Pictures of You
Matchbox Twenty: How Far We’ve Come
Owl City: Fireflies (for a few years there, this song was being used for EVERY video at school, but is probably due for a re-appearance)
      Bangles: Different Light
      Pixie Lott: Boys and Girls
